Our Origins
Kayali Perfume was founded in 2018 by beauty mogul Huda Kattan, who wanted to create a fragrance brand that was deeply personal. The name Kayali pays homage to Huda’s heritage – it means “my imagination” in Arabic. For Huda, fragrance has always been intrinsically tied to her fondest memories, from the scent of oud burning in her grandparents’ home, to the sweet perfume her mother wore.
With Kayali, she set out to bottle not just fragrance, but memories and moments. The brand centers around the belief that scent has the power to transport you through time and space.

Craftsmanship & Quality
Kayali fragrances are designed in the United Arab Emirates and made in France – the historic home of perfumery.
Our Master Perfumers meticulously compose each Kayali fragrance using only the finest natural essences, absolutes, and pure oils. It can take up to hundreds of iterations and years to perfect just one Kayali scent.
We never use synthetic fragrance bases. Each perfume contains at least 15-30% natural oils – far exceeding industry standards. Natural oils are more expensive but impart richness, complexity, and longevity.
The heart of our fragrances comes from prized ingredients like:
- Rose Centifolia from the valleys of France. Revered as the finest rose in perfumery.
- Oud from Southeast Asia. The rare, mystical wood lends a narcotic, addictive quality.
- Vanilla from Madagascar. The vanilla planifolia is known for its creamy sweetness.
- Jasmine sambac from India. The sacred, spiritual flower with a lush, animalic scent.
We also partner with premium fragrance houses like Symrise, Firmenich, and Givaudan to perfect the compositions. These houses have centuries of heritage and expertise blending luxury fragrances.

Our Founder
Huda Kattan‘s life has been defined by fragrance. Some of her most vivid childhood memories are the scent of oud wood smoldering over coal to perfume her grandparents’ home in Iraq.
After growing up in the US and living all over the world with her husband, Huda wanted to create fragrances inspired by her heritage. In 2018 she launched Kayali, named after the Arabic word for “my imagination.”
With Kayali, Huda bottles not just perfume, but memories. Each scent tells a story through thoughtfully blended nuances that awaken your emotions.
Huda got her start as a beauty blogger, which led to the launch of Huda Beauty in 2013. She has since gained a worldwide following for her makeup line beloved for quality and inclusivity.
